Winter Hiking Trails with Children at Zermatt Part 6

Zermatt to Furi is a hiking trial that leads from Zermatt straight to Furi. Allow plenty of time for this walk since there are wonderful restaurants on the route. After the last houses at the end of the village of Zermatt, the winter hiking trail starts climbing gently. The air is fresh and healthy, with the sun shining warmly. Soon after the forest, the hamlet of Blatten appears. You can then stop at a restaurant or carry straight on to Zum See. This medium walk starts at Zermatt and ends at Furi with distance of 2.31 kilometers taking approximately an hour. The highest point on this trail is at 1864 meters with an ascent of 260 meters and descent of 22 meters. This trail is perfect for families who wants to walk before or after a delicious meal at a restaurant in Zermatt or Furi. Since the trail is mostly uphill even though it’s gradual uphill, it is a good way to boost your hunger or boost your children’s energy. With the beautiful snow and the alpine mountains surrounding, it is an excellent trail.
If you want a different route, you can try Zermatt to Furi going through Zum See. This trail is also a straight route from Zermatt to Furi. After the last houses at the end of the village of Zermatt, the winter hiking trail starts climbing gently. Soon in the forest, the Zmuttbach river appears, its boulders wearing hats of snow. At Zum See you can go enjoy delicious culinary or you can wait until the end of walk at Furi. This medium walk also starts from Zermatt and ends at Furi with the distance of 2.36 kilometers taking approximately an hour. The highest point on this trail is at 1864 meters with an ascent of 268 meters and descent of 30 meters.

Zermatt to Ried is a pleasant winter hiking trail that leads from the center of Zermatt through different quarters of the resort to the Ried area. The clear view of the Matterhorn from this trail is particularly beautiful. This trail starts at Zermatt ending at Ried with distance of 2.24 kilometers taking approximately 50 minutes. The highest point on this trail is at 1800 meters with an ascent of 228 meters and descent of 36 meters. Starting point is in the Wiesti quarter. After a flight of steps, the route leads past numerous luxurious chalets, some of which reveals a glimpse of sumptuous interiors. In winter the gables shine in unison over the village, creating a romantic atmosphere. The trail continues towards Eggen in the direction of Ried. At Zer Bannu, you can enjoy a lovely view over the village. The path leads past small, ancient stables before crossing snow covered meadows and thin woodland to reach the Ried district and the Restaurant Ried. This trail has absolutely beautiful view of the village and panorama view of the alpine mountains including Matterhorn and Weisshorn. There are refreshment stops if you and your family need a drink or a rest.
