Wolli and the climate detectives is a playful exploration of climate phenomena which is fun for the whole family. The Zermatt children’s mascot, Wolli, lends a hand. The trip starts off with a ride up the Gornergrat, followed by tons of surprises. Who can solve the puzzle of the seven missing glacier fleas? “Wolli and the climate detectives” is a mystery that starts at Zermatt Tourism, beside Zermatt’s railway station, with an audio guide, map and binoculars. The ride on the Gornergrat Bahn cog railway is full of mystery as well as beauty. After a stop at the observation platform, it’s back down to Rotenboden for the walk to Riffelberg. Wolli, the Valais Blacknose sheep, and his friends, the squirrel, the alpine chough, the stone man and the Matterhorn, set seven puzzles along the way. This curious adventure starts at Zermatt and ends at Zermatt with total distance of 21.18 kilometers taking approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. The highest point on this trail is at 3107 meters with an ascent of 1623 meters and descent of 1623 meters. This walk is absolutely wonderful for children. Your children will have an excellent time trying to crack the code to the treasure chest on their return to the village where there is a surprise waiting for them in the chest, located at the tourist office on Bahnhofplatz by the station. This trail offers wonderful fun and games in the mountains for the whole family to enjoy with prizes for those who listen carefully to the stories.

Rundwanderung Tasch is a round walk perfect for anyone wishing to acclimatize to the altitude or simply to relax. It is an ideal walk for families with children. The circular path leads across a variety of terrain. Along the way, it passes the Tasch-Randa golf course as well as barbecue site and play areas. It’s an ideal walk for families and it’s a great fun for all ages with the additional draw of a dip in the Schalisee lake. This easy trail near the lake starts from Tasch and ends at Tasch with total distance of 4.38 kilometers taking approximately an hour and 10 minutes. The highest point on this trail is 1458 meters with an ascent of 95 meters and descent of 95 meters. This trail is absolutely perfect in summer since children can swim in the beautiful Schalisee lake. With the beautiful views of the Klein Matterhorn and Breithorn, while children are swimming in the lake, parents can enjoy the magnificent view and have a nice barbecue at the barbecue site or have a wonderful picnic besides the lake. If children gets tired of swimming in the lake, they can have fun at the playground which is along the route. There are many other play opportunities along the way such as football and volleyball.
