The Autumn ski season in Zermatt will officially open on the Theodul Glacier (3800m) on June 26. With 13 red and blue runs served by at least 6 t-bars the Theodul features racing tracks, a snowboard park plus a kicker and rail park.
Zermatt’s Theodul Glacier (3820m) kicks off its summer ski season June 26.
There are 13 runs (20 kilometres) on the glacier, most of them red and blue, and the pistes are served by seven drag lifts. Advanced skiers can test their ability on the racing tracks and moguls. The Gravity Snowboard Park boasts a superpipe, kicker park, and rail park. It is the Theodul that connects Zermatt with Cervinia in Italy. The entire area, which was open when I visited in May is served by the highest cable car in Europe, the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car. Summer skiing operates from 7 ’til 2 so get there early and get a head start.
