The Gornergrat, established in 1898

The Gornergrat has an observation deck that is open all year ’round and is built more than 3 thousand meters high. Zermatt is by the way, surrounded by 29 four thousand meter mountains and offers a great view of most. In summer months the Gornergrat has the largest open air cog railroad and climbs the Gornergrat piste many times each day. The Matterhorn is always in full view, and the cog railway goes through many different areas all exciting on its way to the top.Zermatt Apartments

Zermatt Skiing Scene

Bestsuited for Intermediates and advanced skiers, but there is a lot on tap for beginners as well, Zermatt includes the areas of Rothorn Paradise, Gornergrat, The Matterhorn Glacier, and the ski runs of the Schwarzee. The Zermatt area also offers a connection to the Cervinia ski area, so if you want to experience Italian skiing or a lunch this is your trail. Zermatt is car-free which means that all taxis and busses must operate on batteries, as well there is lots to see and do in Zermatt, believe me.
